Come meet local candidates for the Michigan Legislature and ask them about the state and local environmental issues that matter to you.
The purpose of the forum is to give candidates an opportunity to educate the public on their views regarding state and local environmental issues. This is a non-partisan event intended to be a voter education effort. It is not part of any endorsement process.
Former Grand Rapids Mayor George Heartwell will be our host. The event will be moderated by Chris Kolb of Michigan Environmental Council and former Senator Ken Sikkema. Participating candidates will be given an opportunity to introduce themselves and make brief remarks. We will then invite the public to ask questions with the assistance of a moderator.
This event is free.
This event is sponsored by SWMTU, Sierra Club, Dominican Sisters, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and West Michigan Environmental Action Council.
