Fall Workday on the Rogue River

Volunteers needed!

Please join the City of Rockford Sustainability Committee, Kent Conservation District, and Trout Unlimited for an invasive species work day along the Rogue River in Rockford, MI. Volunteers will work to cut and treat the invasive Bittersweet vine which can strangle and kill trees and take over woods.

The Rogue River depends on trees for shade, habitat, river bank stability, and pollution filtering so eradicating the Bittersweet vine to prevent it from spreading further is critical.

Please join us on Saturday, October 24th at 9am at the Rockford Dam parking lot. Please wear a face mask, work gloves, and closed-toe shoes. Waterproof boots are recommended. All other equipment will be provided. No experience necessary.
