A few years ago SWMTU began helping students and teachers in the Northview school district get better connected to the coldwater resources in West Michigan through experiences with fly tying and fly fishing.
Today, Northview district employees Rich Youngberg and Matt Fenech continue that effort with their own programs.
School News Network, an online news organization covering schools within the Kent Intermediate School District, recently did an article about Rich Youngberg’s teaching lesson on entomology and fly tying to third- and fourth-grade students.
This is just one more example of why SWMTU continues to support educational efforts in West Michigan.
