Annual Fundraising Banquet

On Tuesday. January 23, 2024, the chapter’s annual fundraising banquet was held at the Watermark Country Club. The event was attending by 220 people and was another great success. Between silent auctions, raffle ticket sales, and a live auction, the chapter had net profits of $40,000. We thank all those who attended and appreciate your dollars spent for this worthy cause. These dollars will fund our current and future cold water projects on West Michigan streams and rivers.

Camp Wa Wa Sum weekend

The chapter’s annual visit to the Wa Wa Sum Lodge on the AuSable River in Grayling is from Thursday, June 20 through Sunday, June 23, 2024. The spots are filling fast. Please contact Larry Risbridger at [email protected] or 616.690.0692 to make reservations or to answer any of your questions.

Salmon in the Classroom

The chapter currently sponsors 23 active schools in the West Michigan area for Salmon in the Classroom. Lee Elementary School in Middleville has shown interest in becoming an active participant for the 2024-25 school year. We will follow through with their interest.

Women on the Water

Our annual event for women anglers will be held at the Pere Marquette River Lodge in Baldwin, Michigan on June 7-9, 2024. Board member Paige Werner with be spearheading this event. Details coming soon.

Fly Fishing Film Tour

The crew from the Fly Fishing Film Tour will be making their annual visit to the Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids on Friday, March 15, 2024 with showings at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Tickets are available on the Tour’s website and at local fly shops.
