Salmon in the Classroom

Two board members from Schrems were in attendance at the Wolf Lake Hatchery in Mattawan in November, passing out Salmon eggs to over a hundred active schools in the SIC program. We are proud to say that Schrems West Michigan Trout Unlimited sponsors more schools than any other organization in the state. This 2023-24 school year, we sponsored a total of 23 schools in the West Michigan area, with the addition of three new schools this year.

Annual Fundraising Banquet

The annual Schrems fundraising banquet will be held again this year at the Watermark Country Club in Grand Rapids on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. You can now make reservations for the event. Please join us for a fun evening in support of our chapter’s work.

Wa Wa Sum Lodge

Our annual weekend chapter gathering at the Wa Wa Sum lodge will be June 20-24, 2024. We have four nights available this year, Thursday, June 20, Friday, June 21, Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23. This wonderful lodge, on the “holy waters” section of the AuSable River just outside of Grayling, dates back over the last 140 years and we are privileged to have been able to get this prime weekend for over 40 years. You are invited to join in the fun, whether you can come for one night, two nights, three nights, or all four nights. Fly Fishing Film Tour

The crew from the Fly Fishing Film Tour will be coming to Grand Rapids and be at the Wealthy Theatre for the 2024 Fly Fishing Film Tour on Friday, March 15, 2024 with showing at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
