Board Meeting Summary – March 1, 2022

SWMTU Board Meeting

Who doesn’t love meeting notes? Seriously though, there’s good stuff here. It’s how the sausage is made …

The 2022 Schrems fundraising banquet was a great success. After a two-year absence, this in-person banquet was attended by over 220 people and netted a record-setting profit of $40,584 (see photos here). We thank all those who attended and contributed their dollars, which will be used for current and future cold water projects.

On February 7, 2022, the chapter held a State of the Trout seminar at the Creston Brewery in Grand Rapids (recap). A large group attended to hear from our Michigan Trout Unlimited director and the director of the Michigan DNR. We also had a raffle that was very successful. The chapter netted $1,588 for the evening. Again thanks to all those that attended.

There is an upcoming webinar on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 on the State of Michigan’s White River. Please register here. The White River is getting much more attention. The chapter has two scheduled cleanups on the White River this year. The first on Saturday, May 14, 2022, with a second cleanup in the fall on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Details will follow on the chapter website as we get closer to these dates.

This Friday, March 4, 2022 the Fly Fishing Film Tour will be in town for two shows at the Wealthy Theatre at 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Tickets are available at local fly shops and online at: flyfishingfilmtour.com.
