Schrems membership meeting – on Monday, September 23, 2024 an evening gathering of chapter members will be held at Gravel Bottom Brewery in Ada, from 6:00 pm til 8:00 pm. Tickets available on the chapter website.
Barry County Youth Day – Schrems will be on hand to assist youths with their fly casting skills on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Charlton Park in Hastings.
Spey Fest – Schrems Trout Unlimited will be participating in this event at Henning Park in Newaygo on Saturday, September 28, 2024
Salmon in the Classroom – board members will be on hand at the Wolf Lake Hatchery in Mattawan on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 to help distribute salmon eggs to participating schools for the 2024-25 school year.
Conservation
BUCK CREEK – guest Kim Chrisman spoke of ongoing plans along with the Grandville Parks and Recreation for a projected habitat project along Buck Creek near the Grandville Cemetery. They are seeking funds to secure this project for 2025.
WHITE RIVER – there will be a tree planting project soon, funded and conducted by Trout Unlimited National.
ROGUE RIVER – volunteers will be working on Saturday, September 28, 2024 on stream bank restoration on the Hollis Farm. This will consist of rock work and plantings. This is being funded by your Schrems chapter.
COLDWATER RIVER – discussions were made about a possible river cleanup on Saturday, September 21, but because of fallen wood structure in the river system this may be put off to another date, subject to wood structure removal.
