GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Efforts are underway in an attempt to return the Grand River to its natural state.
The West Michigan Environmental Action Council hosted an event Tuesday called “Reconnect to the River,” a forum discussing the possibility of removing dams along the Grand River.
By removing the four dams that restrict the water’s flow and reintroducing tons of boulders and rocks removed years ago, the plan would restore actual rapids to the river.
