Several years ago, SWMTU donated funds to establish Gougeburg Landing along the Rogue River. You might see this park on the western side of US-131 where it crosses the Rogue River in Algoma Township.
In addition to being a key person in establishing the park, Josh Zuiderveen added a few more trees in April 2023. There are 13 native trees planted here now — white pines, white cedars, crabapple, red maple, and a flowering serviceberry right at the launch for people to enjoy. Here are a few pictures of the park and some new trees.
