Fate of Pigeon River dam under review

GAYLORD — Settlement negotiations are under way in a case involving a Pigeon River dam release that caused an extensive fish kill on the river in 2008.

Officials from the state, Michigan Trout Unlimited and Pigeon River Country Association are meeting with the dam’s owners to discuss the fate of the impoundment after a June 2008 incident choked the “blue ribbon” trout stream with silt.
