During a visit to west Michigan, Chris Wood, the Trout Unlimited CEO and President, along with numerous other TU Great Lakes staff members, toured some of the great projects done by Schrems and Rogue River HRI. These include projects on the Rogue River, Cedar Creek, and rain gardens.
Later in the day, Chris and the TU staff met with SWMTU members and a news crew from FOX 17. You can read the news report from FOX 17 here and watch the video clip below.
We asked Chris what Trout Unlimited priorities are in terms of policy, he mentioned Pebble Mine, the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and Endangered Species Act. The other big emphasis is to build conservation efforts from the local level on up, and that’s why we’re seeing more TU staff in Michigan.
