New board officers elected

At this year’s annual membership outing at Wa Wa Sum, we had good times all the way around. The fishing, food and friendship made the weekend a memorable event.

During the membership meeting, the Chapter elected one new board member and four new officers.

Jeff Edwards was elected as new board member, though he’s been siting in on board meetings regularly for much of the year.

We owe a great deal of gratitude to our out-going leaders of President JR Hartman and Vice President Jason Cook. Both will remain active with the Chapter and continue to sit on the board.

Elected as president was Marc Montpetit who has been on the board for many years and and led our Conservation Committee in recent years and the Banquet Committee before then.

Rich Steketee, who has served as our Secretary and Salmon-in-the-Classroom lead, was elected as our Vice President. He’ll continue to be active in many facets of the Chapter.

Tom Mundt was re-elected as our Treasurer. He has brought a level of professionalism to that position that’s never been seen before.

Mark Gurney has been elected as our Chapter Secretary. This past year he helped develop the Rogue River Stream Map you’ve likely seen in our area flyshops and has helped coordinate many of our conservation efforts.

Not listed here is you. Your volunteer efforts are desperately needed to help this chapter fulfill its mission and obligations. There are many different kinds of needs that can be fulfilled. Our board of 15 members typically takes on all the volunteer efforts while our chapter of 1,000 members could chip in more. Your contributions at the banquet are incredibly generous. Can you also donate a little time?
