Set aside a couple of hours on a Saturday morning and join us on one of our conservation projects scheduled this year. You will find the time well spent as we restore one of our areas trout streams. You will have the opportunity to perform some valuable work, meet other TU members, enjoy a friendly lunch, and maybe even find a new spot to fish in the future! A typical project day runs from 9 AM to 2 PM, just bring your waders and a willingness to help out.
Here is our schedule:
May 3rd– Join SWMTU as we team up with the Oak Brook TU chapter and the Coldwater River Watershed council as we work on Tyler Creek and the Coldwater River. Contact Paul Eberhart at [email protected] to RSVP or for further information.
June 14th – We will be joined by the Lansing and Kalamazoo TU chapters as we continue our work on a new stretch of Tyler Creek.
July 26th – Our Tyler Creek project wraps up as we are joined again by the Lansing and Kalamazoo chapters.
August 23rd – Explore some new water as the SWMTU chapter moves to the Pigeon River in Ottawa County for some in-stream habitat work in Hemlock Park.
To RSVP for any of these events or for further information, contact Dave Smith at [email protected] or by phone at (616) 394-8765.
