The $2,100 grant will go toward the Coldwater River Monitoring Project, specifically to cover the cost of temperature loggers placed in the river.
Fish were tagged and recorded, including many brown trout in the 12 to 14-inch range.
About 20 logjams were modified on the Coldwater River to provide better fish cover, stabilize banks, and open new spawning beds.
Brook View Dairy is being investigated by the Michigan DEQ for the March 6 manure spill.

We're proud to announce that Schrems TU has been awarded $2,500 from the Embrace A Stream (EAS) grant program to continue its conservation efforts on the Coldwater River.
The overall goal is to update existing watershed management plans to help local communities ensure healthy river ecosystems with clean water for all desired uses.
